I am running ZenWalk Linux 7.0 and would like to alter the shapes of pictures i want to include in my new web page, for example: round, star, and triangle. So does anyone know of any free software that would archive this? Would really appreciate any replies containing links and tutorials. Thanks

Try GIMP, its a free software.
Also you can join Picasa, I think you can edit images using their website.
Microsoft Publisher might have editing capabilities: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/publisher-help/watch-your-pictures-take-shape-insert-a-picture-into-an-autoshape-in-your-publication-HA001146400.aspx
Other then that, good luck!
