View Full Version : is it possible to use scrollable (jQuery tools) with just one item?

Hi,

I am trying to work out if it is possible to use Scrollable (http://flowplayer.org/tools/scrollable/), part of jQuery tools, to scroll through 1 item/div vertically. At the moment I can only get it working with at least two DIVS. It seems to be set up as an image gallery scroller, but I would like to use it to scroll a playlist vertically and there would be one DIV for the playlist.

If it does have to have at least two DIVs I was wondering if I could set the second DIV to have a height of 1px, or to be hidden? At the moment it seems like all the DIVs have to have the same height.

Thanks,

Nick.

i'm not sure i understand. the div you mention seems to be the container and your scrollable items the playlist items. i'm wrong?

The playlist items couldn't be listed as separate items in a scrollable DIV as the playlist is created dynamically using a php script.

So, effectively the playlist would be one item in a scrollable DIV. I hope this makes it clearer!

maybe i don't understand what you are doing but what is changed if is created dynamically? is still html generated on the server side and until the page is loaded no javascript won't work.

i'm probably not explaining myself very well!

if you look at this playlist which is similar to the one I am working on:

http://nickharambee.dyndns.org/index3.php

The playlist section scrolls. It is one DIV. I am trying to find a way of it scrolling with a mousewheel/trackpad without the scrollbar.

I can see that the jQuery tools scrollable plugin has the mousewheel feature to scroll vertically with scrollbars hidden.

When I tried to implement scrollable it would only work with 2 or more DIVs (i.e. 2 or more items) in the parent (scrollable) DIV, which seemed to me like they had to be the same size. This meant added space at the bottom of the playlist which I don't want.

Hence the question.

Nick
