I have a somewhat troubleing question. I installed IIS 5 on my XP pro computer. Everything was working fine. Even PHP was working. After couple of months something seems not right. When I click on localhost nothing comes up. When i go to the admin tools/iis/ only directory I get is a DESKTOP (Local computer) but none of the sub stuff like "website" or virtual directory are not there. There is no even a "+" for me to break down. I tried restarting, nothing. Only thing I did between when it was working and now is that I had a cable modem installed, and updated windows. Thats it. Can someone please give me some direction?

Sounds a bit fubar'd to me, mate. I'd try removing then clean reinstalling IIS. Something in the update disagreed with it, sounds like.

Is the world wide publishing serivce running?

Try typing: net start w3svc in the command prompt. That should start it. But if it is already started and there is still nothing in MMC, do what Spudhead said.

I tried reinstalling it but for some reason it get to about 60% complete and just stops. Meaning it stays at 60% and doesn't move. I tried installing it in safe mode. I installes successfully, but I end up with the same problem. My local computer shows up in the IIS 5 manger counsole but none of the stuff that does below it like SMTP, website... Do anyone think I have a virus?
