Hey all its been a few months since my site has been reviewed..Back then it was a blog now its a theme website were I hope to share the works I create for free! I know I'm still a beginner and the site is no easy task for someone just starting to do alone but I gave it my best and I'm seeking critisism..

Does it look at least legitimate? remember go easy on me I haven't been doing this long and I'm not claiming to even be good at this

I think the critical thing is that it looks so unfinished there's little point in reviewing it yet.

Yeah, it’s generally not quite clear where you’re going, i. e. what the intention of the design is. Before you start to design you should probably learn how to create wireframes (http://www.onextrapixel.com/2009/07/15/the-importance-of-wireframes-in-web-design-and-9-tools-to-create-wireframes/) at first.

I think you have some good ideas and some good potential, but it definitely doesn't look right at the moment.
The idea for the header is fine, with the big chunky RSS logo, maybe a twitter one too. But the actual logo text needs to be more refined. Nicer font, more nicely positioned and a little logo would do a lot.

The way the main content starts in the header appeals to me and I like how it merges with the background on the left but floats above it on the right with that drop shadow.

Footer looks nice too, should use the same fonts from the footer for your header links and chop down the amount of white space.'

However, my major criticism, is the colour scheme! Black and white i'm positive when done right would look spectacular, but it would be a very hard thing to do as a lot of the visual stimulus would have to come from images and layout. In this case, pick an accent colour and run with it, use it for links, tops of tables, borders, whatever looks good. It really lifts a page.

NoeG, I didn’t mean to put you down. You shouldn’t give up but rather work on it. You’re gonna improve everytime you try something so take websites that you like as example and try to reproduce them, varying a little or whatever (to not just copy a design completely). The wireframe step is a important one, though, to get a clear mind about the overall concept, aims and layout. Once you have that you’ve gotten half way through already. You only need a nice color scheme (http://www.istockphoto.com/article_view.php?ID=191) and an eye for what’s important and should stand out on your site and what’s less important. Again, other websites might give you ideas. Good source for inspiration is http://unmatchedstyle.com/

Good luck.

no you didn't put me down at all I appreciate the critisism, I just had a dream that was too big to be reality right now but I'm never gonna give up I think I still need to understand the concept of design from a color scheme standpoint and also understand like you said the wireframe layout which I have read a bit about
