Free good text font

Wondered if anyone know of a good text font. That is 100% free and easy to read, I am using cabin the moment and maybe it is hard to read. Dont like Arial or the most common.

Quartzy, what's good for us may not be good for you -- I'm fine with Arial and you're not; we all have different preferences. Anyway, if you're one who can't quite decide and you'd want something not so common, how about checking these sites for free fonts.

I didn't compile this list, I have not visited all the sites yet, I just found this, and thought there might be people like you who'd be happy to browse through all 60+ of them.

You need to be careful if you are using it for commercial use as certain fonts are private use only unless you pay a royalty fee to the creator of the font.

For fonts which are free for use and alteration, I would try a site like the Open Font Library or The League of Movable Type (http://www.theleagueofmoveabletype.com/). They have some very nice fonts which render well in most major browsers.

I agree with adamchronister8, Open Font Library is a great source for fonts.

My favorite fonts for a web page are:

sans-serif: VERDANA
serif: GEORGIA
monospace: MONACO

(edit to add): Don't know if they are "free" fonts... probably not. I'm sure Monaco is not. :(

Seconding Georgia... that font should be included in computers by default.
