Look at this hunk of dead code that FrontPage added into my code lines!

<b><span style="font-size:20.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;;
mso-fareast-font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;;color:blue;mso-ansi-language:EN-US;
mso-fareast-language:EN-US;mso-bidi-language:AR-SA"><br clear="all" style="page-break-before:always">
</span></b><span style="font-size:18.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt">

It doesnt even do anything because after this code is the anchoring of the body and html!!!! My company wants me to use Front Page, but it keeps deleting and moving my JavaScripts around, as well as just randomly inserting lines of code! This is starting to get pretty darn frustrating! Has anyone else ever had problems with this program? I mean, the only thing that it's good for is previewing your pages in one window, setting up a frames page, and cleaning up after puppies!

Is there any other FrontPage clone that actually works normally that anyone knows about? If so, let me know.

Thanks,
Ben

You wouldn't want a clone... it would do the samething. :)

Dreamweaver isn't as bad as Frontpage by a long shot.

I'd agree -- DreamWeaver is the best alternative I have found. It has it's quirks, but they can be adjusted rather easily.

Steps to good web design:
Avoid anything labeled "Microsoft"
Accept anything labeled "W3C"
Validate your pages and CSS with them
Very easy huh? :D :thumbsup:

In FP 2000 go to Tools > Page Options > HTML Source then tick "Preserve existing HTML"

If you are supposed to use FrontPage, stay away from the GUI side. Work directly with the HTML at the source level and it'll behave itself fairly well. Start using the GUI tools and it'll make it's own decisions about how to change your code.

frontpage is the devil in disguise. i had to modify a page created using front page and it was plain hell. if i was you, id quit my job instead of using FP :p
