Help

Hello evrybody, this is my first time using this tool so bear with me and if I am in the wrong area please tell me. From what I have seen in questions it looks like I am far behind most people, I have just finished second year as a computer science student and I have this project i wish to take on. I wish to do a web page for my church, ultimately being able to broadcast live services from the web and secondly i want to create software to keep record for the church and to help in day to day business and admin. I want to do this in Java as i want to learn the language. at present i know c and c++ and scheme. So I am asking for advice in how to do this at present i have this book JAVA in a nutshell, its abit staright to the point, so tell me what you think

This I do not know, but here's a church that's done more or less what you want to do: First Evangelical Free Church of Ames (http://www.amesefc.org/). I'd expect their webmaster would be willing to help.
