need to do websites

hi i am looking to do a website, but have no idea how to get it done, i am not in a big rush to do it, but would like to get it finished , after which there would be a further project
any suggestions would be welcomed,

Is this a job or are you looking for advice to do it yourself? If the first, then I am more than happy to offer my services. If the latter, this is not the appropriate section to post this in, but if placed in the right section I am more than happy to offer my advice. ^_^
