IE6 won't display applets

works fine with netscape but the j2re v1.4.1_03 plug in won't work with IE6 or 5.5. it's checked in the internet options and checked in the console. i even tried earlier versions of j2 and reset security settings but !!nothing seems to work!!

any suggestions would be appreciated!

obviously its a windows version and shouldn't matter which for IE...as long as all patches are installed and the java package is installed properly...make sure its the right one too.

win98se. tried other versions of java. all were installed properly. that's what makes this a mystery!

netscapes java comes with the browser and for IE you now have to get it, so you got that one. Does it run in the bg, like down in the task bar?

it does with netscape in the tray but not with IE. never had a problem before. all of a sudden.

woohoo!! finally found it. there were double active x controllers in the downloaded program files in windows folder. i deleted 1 and the plugin works fine.
