View Full Version : chromeless windows

I downloaded this script from here..
My question is i like to have the initial page open my page
automatically and not by a user clicking on link to launch the chromeless page. For example when someone types in my domain
the script will call the chromeless window and not by a user clicking on a link (ex:0pen google.com).Is there a function i need to add to the launch page to call chrome window. As you can see the scripts are on that page.Any help would be most welcome.

You can not have your main page look like that, you would have to open up the window with the onload handler

The only way you could do something like that would be to have the index page open up, use an onLoad handler to open the chromeless then set focus to the parent window (index) and self close.
But trust me (others will agree), closing the main window just to open the chomeless is very unnerving to most people. The first thing visitors will do is try and find a way to get out of that situation (close what window they think is offensive), which will lose your visitor and will also keep them from coming back.
My suggestion: just have the index as a splash page and let the visitor know you'll be opening up the next window chromeless (IE 5.0-5.5) or fullscreen (IE6 w/SP1).
You can visit Quíet Storm's site for an interesting example of chromeless.
AND THE LINK TO YOUR 'SITE' (www) NEEDS TO BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY - Adult Content
