I have an old P1 computer that I just took apart today and was looking closly at the parts...
I looked at this keylock lock which is connected to the motherboard. (well, connected to the case but not really plugged in)

Now, I am thinking to myself the keylock would be ABSOLUTLY useless... Just unplug it! What could happen? Locked or not, maybe?

Does it work if you lock it, and unplug it? If so, where does the information telling the computer that it is locked?
Does it lock the on-off button? So you can't shut it off when on, or turn it on when off?

What's with it?

What you probably don't know also, is a lot of those used the same key. Like if you had the key from a Dell, you could unlock any other Dell. All the "lock" does is close the circuit and if the motherboard detects this is the case, it locks the keyboard.

There's a reason they got rid of them. :)
