Ello dere,
How can I control/edit what program opens a file with a certain extension?

In Windows 2000 (May be slightly different in other versions of windows):

Open a folder or explorer.
Go to Tools, then Folder Options.
Go to File Types.
Find the file you want to change.
Click Change and specify the program to open files of that type.

Yea sorry I didn't say an OS.
I remember this dialog, I just didn't remember how to get to it.
