defining the after ? to what is globbed

I am currently using the glob function to get an print all the images in a given folder for a slideshow into my slideshow page... the question is, how would I define the URL as www.website.com/slideshow.php?$filenameglobbed

Do I have to do this with an htaccess write (which just seems way too inefficient) or is there a better way?

$_SERVER['QUERY_STRING'] (http://php.net/reserved.variables.server) gives you everything after the question mark.
