So i've adopted a project to finish as the original creator has disappeared. Besides the mountain of rubbish, non-validating code that has been written he decided to put this flash banner thing at the top of the page. It looks pretty good i guess, but like most people these days i would not have used flash at all. For the moment i'm just trying to get this site up before deciding on whether to scrap this flash animation or not. But, he's used this "wmode" thing to make it transparent (which btw he also implemented wrong). It seems to only work in IE and chrome, nothing else. Which means all other browsers get a white background...this wouldn't be all bad if the text in this flash wasn't also in white...sigh. Does anyone know a quick fix to get it transparent like what this "wmode" does or will i have to go about editing the flash? I'm probably going to replace it with javadcript/css later on anyway so i'm just after something simple for the mean time.
