My bad, I should read the whole post before answering! The theme with the capabilities you mentioned (even unpopulated with products) should run a few thousand dollars IMHO. If it were a lot less I would expect glitches and no support; if it were a lot more then I'd say you'd be overpaying for it. So let's say in the $2,500-$5,000 range (I'm not self-promoting because this is something I'd refer to someone who specializes in such things BTW).

Not exactly, I have a similar site custom built for about $2000. However there is a big cost involved in the day to day data management and hosting cost as this kind of sites are a resource hog.

Having done several sites very similar to this, with Amazon and Shopzilla integration, I can tell you that the cost to code this would run $4k - $7k, with about $2k - $3k in customization (design, features, etc). For a total cost in the $6 to $10k range (US).

Note: I've seen these sites make that much in 1 month in revenue too.

There are many site similar to that which come up for sale on Flippa. A more cost effective way could be to by one for a few hundred bucks and then have it customized. Get someone from elance or similar I'm sure you could do it for under £2500

Also if you're on a budget, I suggest look for Indian or Filipino developer. Their rates are much lower than any other country. goodluck!

According to me the developer can only tell the exact price, there are thounsands of such websites, which give you estimates but these are far from reality.
