fzerox 11-20-2010, 12:46 AM Something like http://pricegrabber.com
At Pricegrabber, you can compare prices on different products and the quality of the retailers that sell them.
The products can be organized by category, retail store, price, product rating, retailer's rating, etc.
Users are able to write reviews on the products and discuss them, so there is some social networking capability.
Does anyone know how much this would cost to develop? That is, just the theme; not including all the data on 10,000+ products.
Thanks.
kewlceo 11-21-2010, 03:19 AM Six figures.
That is, just the theme; not including all the data on 10,000+ products.
My bad, I should read the whole post before answering! The theme with the capabilities you mentioned (even unpopulated with products) should run a few thousand dollars IMHO. If it were a lot less I would expect glitches and no support; if it were a lot more then I'd say you'd be overpaying for it. So let's say in the $2,500-$5,000 range (I'm not self-promoting because this is something I'd refer to someone who specializes in such things BTW).

webninja 09-01-2011, 07:29 PM Hmm.. i think it will cost a lot more than (5k$ i guess) because it need a lot of work really as well as testing it and fixing bugs and glitches.
onlineindex 09-01-2011, 07:46 PM You have to spend more than $5500 to around $6500 to get this done with the features you discussed in the post.
You can contact any Indian based designers so that you will get it done very cheap rate compared to US or UK rates.
ekgrad 09-02-2011, 05:07 PM Not exactly, I have a similar site custom built for about $2000. However there is a big cost involved in the day to day data management and hosting cost as this kind of sites are a resource hog.
williamsjohn 09-13-2011, 01:03 PM It will cost you around $5500 to $ 7500 i guess
bcarl314 09-14-2011, 12:15 AM Having done several sites very similar to this, with Amazon and Shopzilla integration, I can tell you that the cost to code this would run $4k - $7k, with about $2k - $3k in customization (design, features, etc). For a total cost in the $6 to $10k range (US).
Note: I've seen these sites make that much in 1 month in revenue too.
Wed Designer 09-14-2011, 09:26 AM Well if you need it just like that with minor changes in color, images, logo etc then it could get around $7k to be exact.
WordpressGuy 09-14-2011, 10:36 AM There are many site similar to that which come up for sale on Flippa. A more cost effective way could be to by one for a few hundred bucks and then have it customized. Get someone from elance or similar I'm sure you could do it for under £2500
webninja 09-17-2011, 08:44 PM Also if you're on a budget, I suggest look for Indian or Filipino developer. Their rates are much lower than any other country. goodluck!
tammywal22 09-23-2011, 05:18 PM I think it will cost you around $5000 to $7000 to develop this site. You should define all the function requirements before asking for a freelancer, because there are many "detail" function in pricegrabber, you should specific if you need those functions or not.
shazib222 10-09-2011, 05:18 PM As you said:-
Does anyone know how much this would cost to develop? That is, just the theme; not including all the data on 10,000+ products.
The website you are referring to is PR7 with 3,700,000 internal pages indexed by Google and have 979,287 back-links with Alexa rank of 2846, to make such website is very difficult and will take huge money as according to Semrush price tool it costs $718194. But as you said in your thread that "Does anyone know how much this would cost to develop? That is, just the theme; not including all the data on 10,000+ products" means that you just want theme like that website, so i think it will cost about $7k-$10k including customization like design, features, etc. and also depends upon the freelancer who handles this project.
eddie78 10-11-2011, 05:55 PM Definitely over $5K if you want it done properly.
makintyre 10-15-2011, 02:08 PM I could do it for you for $3000.
chris0 10-17-2011, 10:52 AM it depends on who will do it and their experience level, and how feature right the site will be
if you want a simple php without extensive use of java, then it could be around $2 or even less,
muddaser 11-13-2011, 07:04 AM According to me the developer can only tell the exact price, there are thounsands of such websites, which give you estimates but these are far from reality.
