My brothers MAC seems to have given up and the mouse does not seem to do much and a new one still same results.

Managed to remove the hard drive !! what pillock put it there!!! lol

Anyway I have hard drive out and placed in a hard drive caddy for my pc and guess what it did not work on the pc. Did not initialise it or change any drive settings at all.

Is there a way to get back his files ?

Would an external hard drive unit I placed the hard drive in work on another MAC ?

Any suggestions.

MAC is/was OS 10 i think
Hard drive is a seagate 60 gig ATA V

You could try loading up a Ubuntu live Disk and copying them across that way, Linux pretty much recognizes any filesystem

Linux is not an emulator it's an operating system. The live disk allows you to preview and run the OS from a CD/DVD without actually installing it on your PC.

Download macdrive for windows. It reads 99% of mac drives on windows.
