hey all just released a new site at http://socialcubby.com. Its basically your online business card where you can link to all your social networks, but it has a neat way of doing this... You can choose to link to them in the social bar and when you click on the link it brings you to that social profile (or any other site you linked to) but the persistent social bar remains.. You can also include a description about yourself on the actual card itself... Any suggestions are welcome and also can someone tell me if the stylesheets load... the background should look like a wallpaper and the header should not be blue...for some reason at school it sometimes wouldnt load some of the images...
edit: oh and I just wanted to say its all coded totally from scratch in php

Also since I can't seem to update first post for some reason... I wanted to ask how exactly can i grow my user base and the amount of people coming to my site... is it really that bad or not that useful?

I agree the background is way to busy and it's hard to read just about all of the text on the site. The worst offender is the logo which is extremely important especially since you're trying to build a name. I would include colorful logos of the social networks you're dealing with instead of just text names or "eight different social networks". Also, the demo toolbar has a color / layout scheme completely different from the site. There also seems to be conflicting maturity levels for the site. Social Cubby sounds like a non-serious Twittery site but then you call it "elegant". Though it's not elegant, I wouldn't go too far in the other direction either by putting "Wah?" at the top and "Demo It Up!", just stick with "What is Social Cubby" and "Try Me" or "Demo". It's good that you're using CSS and PHP as you can can the things I've mentioned easily.
