Hi all,

For the last 4 years my team and I have been working on a new social marketplace by the name of Buzzmart. We have only launched it about a month ago after having graduated from university in the UK. We would love to hear your suggestions and reviews, specifically regarding the fee system and if you think it will work. It is free to sign-up and free to sell your first 10 items. So please go visit us at www.buzzmart.com and also join our facebook group to stay up to date with the latest news. Thank you!

Kind regards,

Buzzmart Team

Hey all,

We've just done some more updates and thanks to online communities such as this one we are steadily growing. So a big thank you to all! Now, rather than just tell you about our new updates we at Buzzmart would prefer to tell you about 2 new Apple iPod touches 32GB 4th Gen we are going to be giving away for this Christmas holiday season.

Here are the competition rules and guidelines:

1) Post up to 10 "real" listings on Buzzmart.com, free of charge and at no cost to you whatsoever.
2) An undercover Buzzmart team member will purchase 1 of your listings, which is why this has to be an actual item you must have for sale.
3) Once you have received payment and you have shipped out your listing to the undercover buyer, we will verify that it is as described and send you your free iPod touch in return!
4) MAKE SURE THAT IN THE PRODUCT DESCRIPTION YOU MENTION THE FOLLOWING "32GB4GEN" in big bold letters so we can identify those users who are taking part in the competition.
5) All listings must follow Buzzmart guidelines as stated in the terms and conditions.
6) Competition closes December 5th 2010, so hurry up and start selling!

Thanks and good luck!

Buzzmart has received many suggestions and feedback over the last couple of months. A number of them have been taken into consideration, discussed and implemented over the development period. Among them were the concerns and doubts about seller fees (Buzzmart credits).

It’s in our interest to make Buzzmart a social marketplace that will satisfy the needs and requirement of buyers and sellers alike, so we have taken a complete change of direction in order to achieve that:

1) Selling is free: No fees, no credits. Just sign-up and start selling.
2) No banner advertising: All advertising banners have been removed from the site.

We are now proud to say: Buzzmart - Your (free) social marketplace

Thank you very much. Sorry for the late reply, I know it has been a while but trust me the team and I have been very busy. We have updated our marketplace with a ton of new features. One we are really proud of is a neat micro-blogging feature that allows our users to interact, promote and request products from Buzzmart and other marketplaces. We would really like your opinions on this new function which can be found as soon as you log into Buzzmart and is called "My Network". Looking forward to everyone's replies.

Take care and I hope everyone has a prosperous 2011!

The text links on your listings should not be first and last, rather previous and next. The arrows are too small to suffice and I question the need for first and last in the first place.

If you hit Last, it will take you to the last page, so next will not do in our case since it will not take you to the next page. However, you have made a good point I think previous and next would make much more sense. Sometimes it is the simplest of things we get wrong. Thanks for the suggestion.

when i click 'listings' the page is blank apart from the menu at the side. once i click a category the results appear. you need to have results automatically appear such as 'popular items' or 'previously viewed', otherwise it's confusing to use.

It should show all the listings. Could you please tell me what browser you are using, mac or pc. This way we can test if there are any bugs that we did not know. thank you

It's a nice enough page, a bit too cutesy for my liking but it serves its purpose.
Some suggestions regarding usability:

1. I have no idea when I'm on there if im browsing a UK site, US or what. All the prices are in $ but you say you're from the UK. I'm accessing in the UK so surely it should automatically detect this or at least have a drop down at the top to select country.

2. This is a new venture but when I hit the home page for the first time there is NOTHING telling me what the website is or does. I mean what am I mean to take from "social marketplace"? This does not have the dominance of ebay, you can't be arrogant and expect the user to know what the hell your site is or why they should use it.

I had more but I forgot them during my previous criticism. -_- Basically though, nice looking site, but everything about the usability made me resent it and I definitely wouldn't consider creating an account or buying/selling anything. And bear in mind, this was me coming at it with the context of your descriptions on this page, if someone just stumbled on it through google they would be hitting X faster than you can kiss a duck.

The site looks pretty good, but I agree with Common, I can't see anything telling me for which country this site is meant and what I can do with it.

Hi all,

Over the last couple of weeks our tech bods have been working extra hard on improving our service and we're pleased to tell you about several fantastic new features we have implemented on our social marketplace platform and would really like to have your feedback:

The Buzzmart Network

Besides improving the overall layout of the Network, we have included a neat feature which allows you to filter Buzzes by friends who are also connected with you on Facebook. You can now see which Facebook friends of yours are also using Buzzmart, making it easier for you to interact with people you already trust and find out what they are up to.

Furthermore, we have also added a function which allows you to connect your Twitter account with the Buzzmart Network allowing you to automatically tweet your Buzzmart activity to your followers.

A better look for your listings

Visitors can now view all listings either in list or gallery mode, making it clearer for buyers to find what they are looking for. Additionally, we have tweaked the way your individual listings look by re-arranging various attributes on the page and adding a zoom function to all listing images.

A smarter sell template

New features to the sell template include an automated image suggestion tool which fetches images based on the title of your listing. No more worrying about finding the right image for your products.

Furthermore, we have included the ability to add UPC, MPN, Brand and ISBN fields to your products so that your listings can get indexed by Google Product Search.

Personalized profile pages

We have improved the way profile pages display by bringing your listings to the top of the page and giving them maximum visibility which they deserve. You can also link your Facebook fan pages directly into your Buzzmart profile page and interact with other member using our Live Video Chat tool.

These are just the first of many fantastic improvements we have coming to the site, so make sure to check us out.

Best wishes,
George & Tony
