Ok I have a slight problem...

My friend wanted me to install windows 7 to her laptop, so I backed up all her data and formatted the hard drive, removed the 30gb recovery partition to get more space and created one new partition.

It so turns out that her CD drive has failed.... :(
So I made a bootable USB version of Windows 7, when I try to install windows from it, I get the error, windows setup cannot install to this drive, see setup log for details or something along those lines.

I researched the error on good old Google and apparently I have to format the Hard Drive using gParted, so I got another USB and put gParted on that.
When I boot from that USB I get this error:

"BOOTMGR is missing
Press Ctrl + Alt + Del to restart"

What do I do? I am stuck for ideas now...

Ok, I put the HDD in another laptop and installed Windows 7 on it, I then put the HDD in the old Laptop and it comes up with the windows loading screen, and then the power cuts out...

What do I do now??

As i see the problem, you need to reformat your HDD, with a new installation of windows 7 or try removable bit tool for your USB, and it will make it a fixed HDD. Don't worry, i have done this with old usb as with new one. And it's safe because it can restore the removable bit, so it can be detected as usb again.

You can download the tool from here http://bit.ly/cpbiME

Thanks, turns out there was a hardware issue with the laptop...
