Does Acronis True Image interfere with System Restore? Since I installed it, I get no restore points. All the updates report making an System Restore, but it is not there when I try for it.
No error reports from the upgrades, which say that the restore poin has been created. It just ain't there when I look.
Any suggestions other than suicide will be tried. I'll save that till last.:D:D:D
Flabbergasted Frank.:(
EDIT: I have been offered an update. When I accept, I am told that the data is corrupt. I can neither use it, delete it or re-instal it.
Someone, somewhere obviously doesn't like me.
Yuk times infinity.
Edit again: I have removed the program with Revo. Now trying out Windows 7's Backup facility. Fingers crossed.

Does nobody have anything to say about this?

I haven't known it to cause issues with system restore so no I have nothing to say. Computers in general don't seem to like you. It is possible that you just have system restore disabled.

The system says that Drive C; and Drive D are both enabled for system restore. Everytime that I accept an update, The system tells me that it had made a restore point. It hasn't. I can make a restore point myself which works. It just does not make the automatic ones. It has only happened since i installed the Acronis True Image. I have now removed True Image using Revo, but it has not put matters right.
File system for both drives NTFS.

Just look at this! (http://forums.cnet.com/7723-19411_102-393266.html)
It seems that I had best just forget about system restore.
EDIT: This may prove (http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2342534,00.asp) to be of use.

Well, it depends on what version of acronis true image you have, as far as i have been using acronis true image 2010, i haven't had any issue, and i have system restore activated. And also in win7 pc's you don't need acronis, it has it's own backup system, and it works great.

Thanks ShawnP,
It is a puzzle. I had no problem until I installed Acronis True Image 2010. Since then, no restore points are saved.
Presently, I have gone over to the inbuilt back-up facility. But I still get no restore points saved. W7 goes through the motions, but produces no restore point.
Weird.
