Another bug in IE8 or a virus?

For a few days now I have been getting an error message when visiting some websites in IE8.

The message is:
Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site http://www.????????
Operation Aborted.

I cannot understand why I am getting this message as the page is clearly loading behind it.

When I click on OK it then goes to another page with the message:
Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage.

It doesn't just happen on one site but quite a few including when I came on this forum.

Can anyone tell me is it a bug in IE8 or a virus?
If it is a bug how can I overcome this?

There's a bug in the adsense code, and google says they've fixed it. See http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/AdSense/thread?tid=5185d2ee23123e84&hl=en

It doesn't seem to have been fixed yet. I have just been to one site and the error is still there.

At least I know the problem is not caused by something at my end.
