Well first off let me say that this is not my "first job interview" per say. I consider it my first real job interview as it is not for being a cashier at a retail store during high school.
I got a mass email today through my college about a job opening for this company. After calling and inquiring it is a small company which owns apartment complexes. They just recently built a new one and are looking to copy one of their existing sites, make some minor changes, and refill it with new pictures, information, etc.
I'm sure there will be many people from my college applying. I'm not sure what year the majority of people applying will be in, but I have only been in college for three weeks (which might bring about a disadvantage).
The big thing is that I have never had a computer based job. This seems like an entry level job.
Now that you have a brief synopsis of what's going on, does anybody have any suggestions as what to bring/say at the interview.
Should I tell them that I developed websites when I was in high school, run my own server, know php/java (and many other languages).
NOTE: I realized the above was a stupid question. What I meant was how should I word it. I don't want to seem like a little kiddy scripter
I was thinking of copying one of their sites and setting up apache on my laptop and seeing if I couldn't get a modified version of the site running for the interview (which is in a day).
Should I tell them that I am in sophomore level computer science classes (as they might not know that the classes are completely unrelated).
Also, I'm planning on wearing a dress shirt & tie.
Thank you for your time and effort,
Joseph Pond
