I created the site below last summer doing an internship. This summer for my internship I am suppose to break it down more instead of having everything in one big image. I got all of the homepage broke down except for the bottom wave image. I made the images in PhotoShop but now I am using Fireworks for every thing as far as images are concerned. Fireworks destroys the way when I open it up there. It doesn't work to make it a gif with a transparent background because the colors in the wave become all distorted. A jpeg looks good but I need the background to be transparent.

Help I don’t know what to do!!! I have the red, white, and black background as the background in a table so I can’t keep it with that because the hotspots don’t work when they are in a background.

Here is the site:

Here is it using a JPG.. looks good but need background transparent

Here is it using a GIF..

Please Help!

First, with the table cell that the wave is in, you need to put it in a new row and type in colspan="3" (looks like 3 anyway) That'll allow you to center it.

In regards to the wave image itself, it might be easier to resize it so that it fits completely within the white area. That would solve the problem with both the jpg and the gif.

well i didn't even manage to see the pics properly thanks to my connection. but anyhow, as far as my experience goes, you can add transparency to the gif without ruining the colors, at least in Photoshop. If you haven't got Photoshop or something and u'd like me to try it for u, send me a pm.

I am not familiar with Fireworks but a png is able to be transparent. It will be a larger file size and take longer to load, but it will look good and be transparent.
