Did you just skip over my post or something? Malware bytes will take care of it. Spybot was good at one point in time because no one really knew about other tools but now there are lot better tools out there such as malware antibytes that do the job well. Download it, install it, update it, restart in safe mode and run it. I bet your mywebsearch issue goes away.

No one program is enough to catch all the malware on your computer. Recommend scanning with these one at a time.

There are others already mention and each one has its pros and cons. If you can, I would run these in Windows Safe Mode if the malware doesn't get cleaned.

One thought is to kill any processes that you know don't need to be running in safemode. You would be suprised at some of the spyware/viruses I deal with in the shop I work at. I've had them disable taskmanager, run in safe mode, and lock the administrator account our of the folder it resides in. If you cannot get into taskmanager, go to the command prompt and type in tasklist to list all the processes running, then use taskkill /f to forcefully stop them. I hope this helps anyone having similair problems. One other thing to check is the host file. Ill be making a post here in a few days, describing the different ways to get rid of some of these malicious programs.

with mywebsearch you can simply remove it from add/remove programs and it will go away.
that said if you have mywebsearch there is a good chance you have other crap on there as well so malwarebytes would be +1 from me

Don't worry, I have this problem before. And the best way is uninstall the firefox, and you are no necessary to worry about the bookmarks and the passwords you saved. It will occured after you install the firefox again.
Please pay attention, you have to reboot your computer when you uninstall the firefox.
Good Luck.
