Google Map. Server Side implementation

Hi guys,

I need your expertise regarding my dilema.

I was able to create a simple google map html page at our web server, this web server has access to the internet.

the problem is, when this page is accessed from a different PC that has no internet access, the google map won't work.

I know that javascripts are run at the client side, so i'm asking is it possible to run everything at the server, including the javascripts and still output the google map?

Short answer: No.

Longer answer: Maybe, but only if you *captured* the image and stored it on that server so that it could serve it up to the other machine.

Problem is that a google map is not a static image, as I'm sure you are aware. As you scroll around on the image--or zoom in and out--Google "feeds" more images to the browser. You wouldn't be able to do that, of course. The best you could do would be to grab a snapshot of the map at a particular instant in time and save it on the server. Even this won't be trivial, because you'll need a server with image capture capability.

In addition, you might be violating Google's terms of service. Dunno. You'd probably need a lawyer to figure that out.

I was simply trying to allow our users that has no internet connection to still use google map by using the page at the web server.

guess we simply need our sys ads to work things out for this problem.
