"now playing..."

I'm not really sure if I'm in the right forum but here's my question:
"http://www.ktru.org" has a link on their website that allows a listener online to follow what exactly is played on their Radio Station Right Now.
The screen refreshes every 60 seconds.
The source code does not look very complicated, but the extentions are*.shtml, so I assume they are on a secure site.
I would like to add a similar link to our website - but what does it involve?
I have access to php and MySql on our server.

PS - our website and our streaming are not running on the same server.

There is software/or a plugin that you'll need from your music player on the pc to 'talk' to a script on a server. I used to have something on winamp that did this, but I can't remember what the name is or where to get it from either

I'm using Winamp3 with a plugin called "What's Playing" I believe it's available at the Winamp Site (http://www.winamp.com)

I think right now it's a moot point , but I want to know what I'm getting into, if and when we decide to put something like this on our website.
The problem is: We are not doing our own streaming, so I don't have access to the root Directory of their server.
I'll just keep this project on the back of my mind for now...
