hey i have been trying to install a message forum at my website http://www.504hrs.com the install thing is found at http://www.504hrs.com/forum/install.html but i seem to be getting this error:

Database connection error!!!
A connection to the Database could not be established.
Please check your username, password, database name and host.
Also make sure config.php is rightly configured!

When connecting, the database returned:
Error 2002: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)

i have checked the config over and over and all the infomation is correct, i have also emailed the hosting support thing but they dont seem to be responding.. so do you have any ideas on how to solve this problem??

thanx

Who are you hosted with?

Make sure that you have set the ports correctly... it maybe they are also having problems, keep bugging them by email till they sort it out :)

By the looks of it, it could be your host having problems. If you haven't been set a port, then keep bugging your host, or just change to a more reliable host.

oke so i got it installed last night and it was working perfectly oke untill today..

indeed i have an error again =/

this time its 'error 1129'

Database connection error!!!
A connection to the Database could not be established.
Please check your username, password, database name and host.
Also make sure config.php is rightly configured!

When connecting, the database returned:
Error 1129: Host 'localhost.localdomain' is blocked because of many connection errors. Unblock with 'mysqladmin flush-hosts'

so i did a search on the mysql.com page and i cant seem to find what i have to change.. or where to change etc..

any ideas?

IUt probably means they have messd up mysql - looks like there are too many connections - they probably have either too many persistant connections - or haven't set the amount of normal connections high enough :S

Nothing you can do to fix it. It's the host that can only do it.
