Looking For Web Work Again

Hey all,

I'm looking to get my feet back in the water with doing some backend web development again as a side job. My primary job pays well and I love it, but with extra expenses coming up next year, I need a way to drive a little extra income my way.

I've signed up with freelancer(dot)com but do not have any experience with getting work from there. I've usually relied on picking up jobs right from CodingForums. Does anyone know of any good places to start looking for work again? Any experience with Freelancer?

Thanks,

Shane

There are many Freelance websites available in the net.

The list of some freelance websites
• elance.com
• scriptlance.com
• hire-computer-consultant.com
• freelancers.net
• project4hire.com

The above mentioned sites help you to get jobs. Register with them and start bidding on the projects which suites to your profile.

Competing with someone who works for $2 an hour can be tough on those sites. Saying that, most of the coders out there are not very good (heck they are not even a little good), so someone with experience is sought highly. If you have no finsihed projects on any sites it will be tough to start - I advise you to take small bug fixes on these sites first and be prepared to be paid almost nothing. Once you have around 10 good reviews and jobs completed, then start bidding on bigger ones that pay $500 or so then progress to $1000+ after a few $500 ones.

Good luck. BTW I am usually a buyer, but I know what coders need to do to get my attention - have some good feedback, present a coherent and valid (to the topic) bid.
