Looking for the follies font. Apparently it costs $32.00 but the logo I'm redoing uses it so all I need are like 4 characters of it and the font was already purchased for use in the logo anyway...

If this is against TOS in any way, sorry. I just need the S, I, G, and N characters :)

why dont you make a similar font, or do you absolutly need it. it only costs 20$ not 32$ :p

I'm not going to pay for something I only need 4 characters from :P

Oh well. The logo designer must have it somewhere...

Sypher scour the net and cut the font from different pictues/websites, when you find the letter just assemble them.

lol, whether or not they can prove it is irrelevant :p It's still unethical...

I suppose the only truely legal way of doing this would be to contact the logo designer and ask for the font as all I'm doing is reproducing the logo in a much higher resolution.

Or ask for a fonts converted vector of the layout... I have about 5000+ fonts, but many of them are not named the same as standards -- do you have a visual example? I probably have that font... Or, I can just send them all to you in a zip format... if you have that long.

If you were given permission to use and/or manipulate (either verbal or written) the logo, you aren't breaking any laws. And, you're right, they would have to prove they never gave you verbal permission not to do it, so like it's going to happen...:D

If you have paid for it, why not just provide proof of purchase, e.g. statements or confirmation emails to the creators of the font.

I am sure that they would not have a problem of re-providing you with what you have rightly paid for.

By the way, it doesn't matter if you write a novel or just use the ".", if you use the font to do it, you will have to pay for the use of it.

It's for a client's site. He has a logo, but I want to make it bigger and clearer (it's saved as .jpg :()

That's the one. Both are the same font from what I can see; the top one is simply filled in.

Oh, I've got that for sure... give me a moment and I'll toss it off. Are you on Mac or PC? I'll convert it to true type pc if you'd like?
