Opinions on a website?

Hey all ~

I know I haven't been here for a while (been super busy), but I always remember that my css origins and teachers were here and this forum holds a special place in my heart. So I figured I would come to ask you guys' generosity in opinions on my latest website.

Questions:
- Why does the text look ****ed up in Firefox, but work everywhere else?
- Does this work ok in IE? (I dont know I only have mac in my house)
- What do you guys think of it? It's supposed to be simple but elegant.

Notes:
- I realize that the sunrise image loads slow, but I am ok with this because it fits all screen sizes. I will change this to a css gradient as soon as there's widespread enough support and then itll load super fast and look great
- I realize there's a couple weird characters sprinkled in here and there - I did not bother fixing them just because all the text will be edited anyway

I find that it takes a few seconds to load all the images, that could deter people from coming to your site in the future. might want to compress the file size. But its nice. if u like purple LOL!!

Site looks good. The fading looks good.
My opinion.
1) Fonts are pixalating, not sharp in every page.
2) The bullet color not matching to the background, i suggesting yellow.
3) And both in ie8 and firefox the text overlapping the round cornered box.
4) Connect page looks good.
5) Cant you use the same home page image to the inside page also.

I noted in my original post that I am aware that the sunset image takes a bit longer to load but that I cannot fix this without sacrificing the design and am ok with this. Are you noticing any other images that have long load times? The rest of them are very small images and I have not noticed any that load slowly.

The site is for a girl, so she is actually a rather large fan of purple.

I am using cufon for the font rendering, I'm not sure why it would be pixelated, it has been very reliable for me so far. What OS and browser is this happening in?

The bullets are black, which matches the theme. Are they showing up this color for you? I think yellow would look rather ridiculous, since there is no yellow anywhere else on the page.

I had noticed this and pointed it out before, but just recently figured out how to fix it. It should display fine in firefox now, although I am still unable to test any versions of IE due to my home's mac domination.

On the homepage image, I can't for a couple reasons, the main one being that it is a sunset and has to come from somewhere or else it would just be a floating ball of radial gradient. And I can't add in the hill on every page because it's pure black and would get in the way of text.

Again, thanks so much for the feedback. If anyone has throwback versions of IE and would be willing to test out the page there, this would be super helpful!

Im using windows 7 professional.
The site looks good in ie 8, but the size of the rounded corner box getting reduced in firefox.
