I won't go crazy with details. Is there a way to acheive exact vertical positioning of a div between IE, Firefox, Safari and Chrome? FF and Safari are always hovering an inch above where IE is, and I'm working in a tight space.

I set the horizontal positions just fine using auto margins. I understand vertical is harder though, but I have no idea where to start. Should I put them in tables? I've heard of in-line blocks, would those work? Is it just not gonna happen? Thanks!

Are you trying to do something like http://www.wpdfd.com/editorial/thebox/deadcentre4.html ?

It's not so much exact center as it is that I have a bunch of divs that display php prints from a database... but they don't display the same vertically in all browsers. For example, what looks perfect in firefox displays an inch higher in Internet explorer. I'm trying to get these php prints to display on top of some pretty tight areas on the background, and an inch makes a big difference.

A link to your page would help, I think.

A lilnk would be very helpful since I can;t be sure even what this means.

that display php prints from a database

Does that means printed output
or
photographic prints
or
print statements
for example?

Sure, feel free to take a look. I'm at www.madflex.com. You'll have to sign in to see what I'm talking about, you can use

All I meant by php prints is that I have information that is being called from a MySQL database, and it is nested inside div tags that are being displayed on the page improperly in terms of vertical alignment.

You can see the errors when you are logged into my page. The logged in users stats are relatively clean on their page, but when you look at other users' pages, the bio and info areas are erratically out of whack sometimes. I don't know how this is possible, since all pages are using the same profile template.
