View Full Version : what font is this?

I made a post #4 in the following thread and I see that the font is different from the rest of the page. I can;t seem to see where the 'pre' tag css is declared and so I can;t seem to see what the font is.

Can anyone please tell me?

Its the font in the 'pre' box I am looking for the name of.

I don't see any different font there than any of the other code block sections.

Firebug tells me that the font is inherited from here:

showthread.php?t=201043 (line 42)
td, th, p, li {
font-family:verdana,geneva,lucida,'lucida grande',arial,helvetica,sans-serif;

Depending on which fonts you have installed it should be one of those.

Well, it looks more like a monospace font and I doubt that it’s Verdana as Verdana is the font that is being used outside of the code blocks. It looks more like Courier or something like that although I’m also confused why it doesn’t show that font in Firebug.

Are you talking about this kind of font?

blah blah blah

It is in fact monospace.

In firebug if you try to edit that font family and give it an inline style. Courier doesn't seem to match up but monospace doesn't change the font family at all so its likely monospace.

Firebug is giving me:

xmp, pre, plaintext {
margin:1em 0;

which, as Aero says, seems to be equivalent to monospace.

thanks guys, :thumbsup:

I thought it looked quite a pleasant - easy on the eye - font and I might use it for a while.

Do all OSs have it installed?
