View Full Version : Showing specs to distant clients...

I'm working with a client that's very far away and we're going through many design revisions on a large scale web design project. Until now l've just been emailing the JPEGS over to him and trying to name them all according to revision #. But this isn't efficient in my eyes, and we need to come up with something different.
I'm wondering if any of you can suggest a good place to upload large 980x750 JPEG files into an album type setting that would work good. I've tried picasa, image shack and flkr but they all require multiple clicks to view the full size image.

Is there any reason you're not posting them to a gallery on your own website?

Well l'm looking for something that will allow users to make notations, view revisions etc - l'm not aware of any software that l could run on my site like this (hence the reason l'm asking) and l'm not quite in a position to drop everything l'm doing and program my own.
I've posted this question elsewhere and have so far been told about www.notableapp.com and www.dropbox.com I like them both - any other or similar suggestions would be great!

On another note you could work live with the remote client via Skype where you can talk to each other and even share your screen (or a part of it) so the client sees what you’re talking about. At the end of the session you could make a PDF out of the graphics with annotations or whatever.

That is a good suggestion, however after each revision it goes through numerous levels of management and discussions, outside review, and scrutiny before l know what's going to be updated - ie it's not something that happens after a few minutes, it can take days to get feedback from small tweaks or alterations to the layout. This is a nightmare client that wants _COMPLETE_ control, however the pay makes it well worth it.

Any system with revision control should be fine. This could be something as simple as Dropbox.

This might work:
Quickly and easily give feedback on design, content, and code on any page of a website or application without leaving your browser. Works on iPhone, too!
Notable helps your team collaborate through visual feedback on screenshots, via a chaos-free process so that everyone can express their opinion.

Dropbox, and notableapp.com are two very good options, thanks for your suggestions folks!
