Help with GD Thumbnail scripting

I don't know too much about php, but I would like to have thumbnails generated dynamically. My webhost has GD 2 installed.

Can someone give me the script and what I have to do for the gallery?

Im no expert on GD, but I think that what you want to do could be a bad idea.

I have heard that GD is quite taxing on server resources, so it would probably be more appropriate to use actual thumbnails.

I'm not worried about the server, plus I have too many images to make into thumbnails...
