I have an emagazine i want to add to my website, the probelm is when it opens in a browser you have to sroll down the page, to view it all, what i was wondering is, is it possibe to create a link that when somebody selects to view the magazine it forces the browser to openin full screen mode so that it fits niely on the screen without the toolbars and evertything taking up half the page.

Thanks

that it fits nicely on the screen without the toolbars and everything taking up half the page.
Fits to the screen? Which screen? Your screen? You should think to the users display not your display. Do you know how many resolutions are now in use (from 800x600 to 76804800)? Do you know how many displays aspect ration are in use (from 4:3 to 16:10)?

Don't mention that different browsers have different client height even in full screen mode. If they have a full screen mode.

On the other hand, Full Screen Mode is rather an internal add-on of the browser (F11), and it is not always possible to be induced via a client-side language. Even so, if it is possible to do that with JavaScript, that document has to be opened via a JavaScript method (aka window.open()) by all means.

By short, no. You can not force a Full Screen mode straight onload, for all the browsers.

Even if there were a way, manipulating visitors' windows is a poor design practice. It's intrusive and will undoubtedly draw visitors away from your site.

Agree. Absolutely. stn003, you should have thought at the site's height from the beginning, and you should have tried to fit the height starting from the design stage. You should have chosen the most common height used.

Anyway, scrolling the page is a common practice, and it will not harm your site's visibility.

Thanks,

I didn't like it either my main concern was getting the magazine/newsletter to open in a window without scrolling. so now i just open it in a large pop up window which is much better, but thanks for your advice, and i totally agree.

Thanks
