Looking for a way to copy all text when clicking a button

I know how to make something function onclick(), but how can I make it so it copies the area of a textarea element, does Javascript have the ability to do this?

Where is the onclick??? On what object? A button? Or what?

And do you mean the entire contents of a <textarea>???
