I've had a lot of annoyances with my computer lately, here's some of them:

1. Computer is horribly loud, the hard drive works at all times, even when no applications are running (except services).

2. Computer is horribly slow, sometimes theres a long delay when I try to open the start menu.

3. When I use a model viewing program, when I select certain models, my ATI Catalyst Control Center crashes and my screen goes black for about 10 seconds. After which I get an error saying VPU Recover did something.

4. Some programs start increasing memory usage to a point of stopping functioning, and when I try to close them, they don't, a window pops up asking if I want to report the thing, and the window stays in that same place without being closed.

And I have a few questions related to computer software, hardware:

1) Is windows 7 more stable than windows XP? / Worth upgrading to

2) Which is a good video card which is valued between $100-$250 For gaming purposes

1) Not if your hardware can't support it. You would need at least 2GB of memory to run it comfortably. It is pretty stable but has a little bit of a learning curve. Check to see if your system meets the requirements. To me though it sounds like you have may a virus/spyware. Have you done a scan with anything?

2) I'm not a gamer but ATI Radeons and Nvidia GForce graphics cards are usually the ones that gamers use.
