to do list?

anyone know of a realtime to do list editor, I don't want some web page based thing where I have to wait for the loading of pages and all...

Try searching download.com for calendar utilities - there are some fairly nice ones around, but TBH I just use Outlook now.

but I need a platform independent one that runs with something like a java applet or maybe something written in python would be nice too....any ideas?
