View Full Version : How do I disable the Media bar?

how can i KILLLLL the built in media in IE you know what im talking about??

Like if you clik on an mp3 file and instead of downloading it streams it using the built in media player....but i whant it to download

my friend was dumb and said to always play it instead of downaloding it LOOSER! grrr..........if anyone knows how to fix it plz tell me

(i lookes in properties in the multimedia section and i didnt find anything relevant)
soo if you could help me out id appreciate it

my bad..........didnt notice but anyway

my problem isnt that i wanna open the file in a differant media

i whant to SAVE it instead of opening...........and nothing in that thread covers that issues only talks about opening it ....

ok....go to the preferences of the IE and change the d/l settings...don't have it stream, have it open...if it is playing in IE then the default player is media player, you might check the preferences in there too to make sure that it is supposed to d/l and not just open in IE....

that happend with my zip files, they always open instead of asking to save. fix anyone?

tried "right click save target as"?

yeah but its a pain to do that because
A)i'm lazy
B)on auto download sites like download.com you have to cancel your download and get it again to be able to save the target
