Exact positioning of images

Hi

I am having problems with the exact positioning of images. I am using a table, and placing each image inside particular cells of the table. The background is a picture of an artist palette, and I am placing the images, so that they look as if they are part of the palette.

When designing the page with Frontpage 98, the images appear exactly as they should, but when I view the page (as it would appear on the net), I find that the images do not appear in the same positions, and distort the effect I'm trying to create.

Can anyone offer suggestions? Is this technique the best way? or is there another technique?

switch from FrontPage to Notepad;
switch from table layout to absolute positioning.....or.....make it all one image and use imagemap if your goal is to create links to different image areas...

Are you using absolute sizes for your table? Such as setting the sizes in pixels instead of percents.
