Several times, various site have told me that I need to download "Flash" and offer me a free download which I accept.

Every thing proceeds as expected right through to the 'Finish' button, which tells me that it has installed.

It obviously hasn't because the next time that I am in the same situation, the identical process is repeated with the same result.

Checking the Control panel confirms that it is not there.

Anybody any similar experiences or solutions?

What browser would this be, Frank?

Sorry. IE8. I don't remember if it happens on the others. I have to find out.

Frank

EDIT: I should have tried earlier to download it myself without a prompt. I have just done that successfully. For some reason or another it didn't work from being offered. I needed to initiate the process myself. I really must get to bed earlier.

Just be careful your not being tricked into installing malware

I always use Security Essentials after a download. So far nothing has been found.

Fingers crossedXXXXXXX
