Hello everyone, I'm new here specifically for one reason: I want to write a "profile" (basically a suite designed specifically for one program) for Hipporemote. I was really hoping to make one for World Of Warcraft (Yes, it's nerdy, but it's not for me) and there is a good template for one on the site (someone made a profile for a game called Trine on the site) and I was hoping that I could just replace some of the coding with the stuff I want. This would be pretty easy because of the fact that some wonderful people have made a list of all macros so they can just be pasted into place.

My problem is that I have no clue if this is XML or Plist. Actually, I don't know what either of these are at all.

http://hipporemote.com/macros Here's a link to the macros that can be pasted in place of other code.

http://hipporemote.com/profiles Here's the link to the tutorial that hipporemote supplies. There isn't much there.

From what I understand, you have to write the name of the program and then lay out the size, appearance, and position of the buttons. I was wanting to use the Trine template, but make the side buttons one of the mouse pads that it talks about in the tutorial (they call it a trackpad) and make the bottom buttons simple number key inputs (because the number keys choose spells in WoW). My main problem right now is that I can't find out how to translate what Trine opens up as into the stuff in the tutorial. I tried Notepad and several other programs.

Sorry for butting in, but I hope to stay on these forums and learn a lot over some time. I'm currently a student in high school and there aren't many classes on coding except making an html link and stuff like that. Please help me? By the way, thanks for reading this!

actually, it’s both (a plist is a special kind of XML, like XHTML is)

Do you know how to change it to "english" though (the stuff on the tutorial)? If you try to open one of those files on the link, it comes out as a whole bunch of random symbols. Supposedly, there is a way to do it on Notepad. Any ideas?
