Hi Everyone

I'm trying to get a Wordpress blog up and running am using one of the templates for the design. I would like to change the color of the links for the drop down menu items when I hover over them. Currently it is white text on a white background, thus impossible to see, any other color would be better (don't know why it was designed like this). Anyways, I have access to the CSS but I'm not sure what to change. Any help would be great. Here is a link to my blog if you want to take a look at the css code:

Thanks

Hello sheldonhuelin,
In your style.css you will find this -

ul#nav ul a:hover, ul#nav ul a:hover span,
ul#nav a.active ul a:hover span,
ul#nav li.current_page_item ul a:hover span,
ul#nav li.current_page_ancestor ul a:hover span,
ul#nav ul li.current_page_parent a:hover span,
ul#nav ul li.current_page_item a:hover span,
ul#nav ul li.current_page_parent li.current_page_item a:hover span{
color:#fff;
}
Change that color: #fff; to whatever color you want the text to hover.

An ap that makes it very easy to find things like this is FireBug for FireFox. Get FireBug here (http://getfirebug.com/).

Hi
Thanks for the help. I tried changing it to several colors (i.e. #458B00) and it doesn't change.

Have you tried changing the color value in this part of css?

ul.menu .fadeThis span.hover {
position: absolute;
top: 0;
left: 0;
display: block;
height: 100%;
width: 100%;
background: #f7f5ef url(images/side-menu-active.png) repeat-x left bottom;
z-index: -1;
}

Hey
I just tried and the color never changed. I think I'll choose a new template, thanks for the help.

Don't give up quite yet. HOw about changing:

ul#nav li a:hover{
color: #fff;
}

and also implement changes Excavator suggested. Might be a combination of things you need to change.

I don't have enough time to cleanup your css, though try the following changes in your style.css

/*
ul#nav ul a:hover, ul#nav ul a:hover span,
ul#nav a.active ul a:hover span,
ul#nav li.current_page_item ul a:hover span,
ul#nav li.current_page_ancestor ul a:hover span,
ul#nav ul li.current_page_parent a:hover span,
ul#nav ul li.current_page_item a:hover span,
ul#nav ul li.current_page_parent li.current_page_item a:hover span{
color:#fff;
}
*/
ul#nav li ul a:hover, ul#nav li ul a:hover span{
color: #1568A6;
}

Thanks but I tried it again and with no success. I'm switching to another template. Thank you all for all of your help.
