Hi BloodXero,

What O/S are you using? I also use Nero, originally it was installed on Win98, worked like a dream. When I upgraded to Win2K it stopped working - I uninstalled and re-installed, didn't work the first time but after a few attempts of uninstall and re-install - it works fine now.

Try it - good Luck!

ya im on win2k also. il try reinstalling it. its acting like a damn monkey. it always stops on 2% for data cd's and 4% on music cd's. ive tried to burn different files on to see if it was the files but its not. tried converting music from mp3 to wav but that didnt work. i guess reinstalling is next. thx.

Hi,

Forgot to mention one thing, also try windows update for latest driver for Nero - its been a while since I did the upgrade, the driver may need updating.

The link for windows update is:

http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp

or alternatively, click on start | windows update

I'm on W2K and use Nero to burn (version 5.5.7.1) and haven't ever had any problems with it (USB connected burner).

On XP at home I just use the built in burner software since I haven't needed to burn anything "special".

well ive got 5.5.8.1 and im just gonna try reinstalling it a couple of times and try to get some results. if nothing happens il just keep looking around for some stuff on it.

Make sure you "uninstall" it at least once before trying a re-install.

yes i know. gotta get rid of all of the files before reinstall.

Say, why are you not doing a TEST and BURN. Doing a test probably would save you from making all those coasters. Anyways, why are you using nero? I used Nero, and to me it worked buggy, and when I got a new drive, i installed Roxio EZCDCreator and have had no problems since.

im using nero because that is what the drive came with and that is what the drive is supposed to use. and what are you talking about test.

I have Nero, rarely burn CD's, though I'll have a bash tommorrow and look for clues.

Generally burning programs have a test stage and a copy stage, the test stage basically simulates the writing process without the risk of coaster production. It takes a bit longer obviously.

anyone know how to do a test in nero?

Jason

there is an option to do a test-burn its normally a check box...look in the preferences or its on the page where you select the speed at which it will burn...I think thats where its at...
