Plain and simple: is there ALOT of math in programming?

It depends on what you are building. "Programming" is a very broad term.

lets say we are building a new game
Depends on the game. I made a puzzle game last year for my engineering programming course, and another for my computer programming course, neither involved a lot of math at all. However, if you are talking about a game like Assassin's Creed or Splinter Cell, then yes, a lot of math and physics is employed.
The computer science degree at my college requires you to be well versed in calculus (up to multivariable), linear algebra, differential equations and discrete mathematics.

and the university I went to even required beginning and advanced physics for my computer science degree.
I can honestly say in the 6 years since college i've not needed to use more than basic algebra. As oracle says it all depends on what you are working on.
