View Full Version : Stuck with IE6 issue :/

Hi Guys

I am currently working on a site... and I AM FED UP with IE6... If only I could tell people to GO DOWNLOAD IE8... but that would be too easy

I have been doing lots of changes to my CMS and forgot to keep checking if IE6 is happy with changes... now IE6 is unhappy and I don't know what I changed :/

unable to select text in content section... visible but it is almost as if it is behind something. This is an issue when a user tries to log in and can't enter their details as you can't enter into text

also anything in this site :P

I know my code is ugly... I currently have someone to add all the table summery attributes, image alt attributes etc... Also I know absolute positioning is frowned upon but its just that way its gotta be... so no bad mouthing the code :p
These pages are generated by my CMS so I gotta fix the thing generating the annoying IE6 bug

PHP, Javascript etc... As you can see I am not much of a HTML coder and I think this issue is with the HTML

If anyone spts something... I will be in your debt :thumbsup:

Nor in IE7 would work, if you mean the color of the links.

You see, you have used CSS classes like:

I would have thought the classes otherwise

.someclass a{
.otherclass a{

same for the pseudo classes :visited, :hover ...

On the other hand using the inherit value is tricky in IE...

Thanks for the input but this is not the issue. The CSS is fine and the code works in IE7 & IE8. Both your and my CSS will work in both ie6 and ie7

Thus I think it has something to do with the z-index, opacity, or visible/hiddne fields

Are you sure? See in attachment the IE7 print screen.

Nor in FF looks better. The "login" text is blue, not white.

Ah... that... I need to fix that... but thats due to my "a" css atribute being blue ... still meaning smack a manual white color in there :p

But regarding the issue which concerned me... it was the stupid Debug bar in IE6 which was causing the issues ... aye... uninstaled it, and IE6 is manageable again

so if any mods is looking at this thread... it can be wipped
