Hi Y'all,

I keep getting this error on my servers every few days. I have tried to increase the size of the logs but still this error keeps occurring. I have to empty out the logs every few days.

Any ideas why this is happening, is it possible to automate the emptying / deleting the logs, etc

Thanks in advance

Have the log files overwrite as so: administrative tools (common) => event viewer then Log => options => log settings => overwrite events as needed.

I wouldn't throw a quick bandaid on this problem... Mouse is telling you how to get rid of the log message... However, if your logs are filling up every few days, then there is a good chance you may have a problem with the servers hardware, software or the OS itself... Read through the logs and see what is failing or causing the issue... Your logs should never really fill up on the server (save the Security logs, if this server is either a pdc or bdc or member machine requiring authentication your security logs should really be the only ones filling up)... You can make a copy of your logs and I would be happy to look at them... Just understand that your logs contain sensative information about your server and can be used to hack into the server (just wanted to warn you of that)...

Hi Sage,

I get a Patrol Agent failed to startup error in the logs - has been appearing for a while now. Tried to search for Patrol Agents on web - its a compaq thing but can't seem to get any luck on finding out how to resolve this problem.

Any ideas???

Without knowing alot of the specifics (OS Version, Server Model, etc. etc.) I came up with these in a quick search of Compaq (*cough, cough*) HP's ;), website:
