I am looking for some suggestions on some open source software to put on my server.
First, I must explain the purpose of my site. It's a private site which only my friends and I use. We have phpbb3 installed on it. We use it to plan events (lan parties, etc) and for keeping up with each other while we're at college.
We also plan on using it as a torrent box. Since you can not torrent at most colleges we set up ssh so that we can torrent remotely and use scp to download it to our dorms.

Now, for what I'm looking for.

A proxy written in php (for getting around school/work blocked sites)

A interface for uploading and downloading files (if it can take torrents, that would be a plus).

Thank you for any suggestions,

cs_student

EDIT:
I found torrentflux (http://www.torrentflux.com/) which is a web based bittorrent client (exactly what I have been looking for).
However, I'm still looking for a proxy

Doesn't that violate the user agreements you signed when you were granted access to your school/work networks?

Most likely.
