I have recently tried to install DW CS3 again after getting it and not being able to do much as it seems to just hog the CPU!

If I was to select a menu item say

Edit/Prefs

then the CPU goes down to around 20% or there about, which I can live with.

but it seems that I can not use anything else but DW CS3 and at that it still hogs the CPU.

Why does this happen.

It works, its just the CPU keeps wizzing around like it is going to take off and the pc does not normally do this with everyday use.

Do I have some setting that could be changed to improve the performance of the rest of the pc's usage?

Is your Celeron mono- or dual-core?

Wait did you say 480MB of ram? DW runs comfortably with at least 1GB of rame.

Actually dw cs3 runs fine on a celeron single core. personally though I prefer a plain text editor like gedit or notepad2

CS3 in general is a hog.
