View Full Version : motherboard battery question...
After my issue earlier today where I replaced the battery, I am wondering; why don't the motherboards use a rechargeable battery which will be, well, recharged by the mains, whilst the pc is in normal operation?
Seems a better option to me.

Money I would assume?
Besides, the batteries are dirt dirt cheap, putting a rechargable and connecting it to a PS would probably be a pretty big expense for manufacturers.

I believe they do, or at least some do, but even rechargeable batteries go bad eventually.
